We Created the ABSOLUTE R34 GT-R | The TOPRANK JDM Way





We’re excited to announce that our latest YouTube feature is now live—showcasing our fully built R34 GT-R Demo Car, a project that embodies what we believe is the ultimate expression of the GT-R: precision, balance, and purpose.



This build was not about chasing numbers alone—it was about refining every aspect of the car, from chassis rigidity to engine response, in true TOPRANK JDM Way fashion.

Build Overview



To make this R34 GT-R truly “absolute,” we approached the build holistically—addressing engine performance, cooling, and chassis dynamics to create a car that performs as one cohesive system.



・Engine & Performance

  • Oil pump rotor upgraded (engine removed for precision work)
  • Cylinder head gasket replaced with orifice modification
  • Camshaft upgrade with full valve clearance adjustment
  • Tomei adjustable cam gears (IN/EX) installed
  • R35 ignition coil conversion + new spark plugs
  • LINK ECU installed and tuned
  • Injector harness modification & fuel system enhancements
  • Fuel pump wiring upgrade + fuel filter replacement
  • Intake system refinement
  • Turbo Replaced (Garret GT2860R Turbos)
  • Cooling & Reliability Upgrades
  • Radiator replacement + fan coupling upgrade
  • Oil cooler installation (HPI oil cooler + braided lines)
  • Thermostat replacement
  • Juratek Cooling plate
  • Timing belt & water pump replacement
  • Engine mounts replaced



・Chassis & Suspension

  • Front lower arm bushings replaced with SuperPro bushings
  • Upper arms replaced
  • Suspension arms refreshed throughout
  • Rear suspension member collar installed
  • Knuckle bushings replaced
  • Öhlins coilover suspension installed



・Braking System

  • Front & rear brake calipers overhauled
  • Big rotor kit installed
  • Brake pads replaced front & rear
  • SPEEDMASTER BF-DOT4 brake fluid
  • Supporting hardware refreshed


・Additional Refinement


  • NISMO SUPER COPPERMIX TWIN clutch installed
  • Driveshaft boot repair (front right inner)
  • Steering wheel upgraded (ATC SPRINT CON45-350)
  • NISMO seat covers installed
  • Headlight restoration
  • NISMO fender moldings + overfender paint
  • Full fluid service (engine, transmission, transfer, differentials)
  • New battery (BNR34-specific)
  • A/C service (R134a)



Power & Torque Results

・Measured Results (Engine Corrected Figures):


  • Max Power: 494.6 PS
  • Max Torque: 47.5 kgm



Graph Interpretation (English)

The power curve shows a smooth and consistent climb, delivering strong top-end performance typical of a well-balanced RB26 setup.

The torque curve is broad and stable, ensuring usable power across the entire RPM range—not just peak numbers.

The result is a car that is not only powerful but highly drivable and responsive, both on the street and track.



The TOPRANK Philosophy


What this translates to in real-world driving is a car that delivers strong mid-range torque for usability, linear power delivery for controllability, and stable high-RPM performance for sustained driving. This is not a “dyno queen” setup, but a machine engineered for usable performance across the entire RPM range.
